  Pine Siskins - Finally!

Today brought my first Pine Siskin to our feeders! I am pretty sure it was a male due to more yellow markings on his lower wing tips.

I managed many photos as he was quite content to sit, pick through the seeds on the deck railing, and get photographed. Halfway through, I turned on the flash and he was fine with that too. It was tough to get a pic without seed casings on his beak; what a messy eater!

I almost lost my fingers to frost bite due to a sub-zero wind chill factor, but I was too mesmerized to move to and seek warmth!

This shot seems to show just how much he really enjoy picking through the seeds on the deck!
