A Bit of Orange

I was advised by a friend on my bird list to put out some grape jelly to attract a Baltimore Oriole - so, knowing they like oranges, I put a couple of teaspoonfuls of grape jelly in half an orange and hung it from a tree with a bright, pink ribbon. It took a few days, but sure enough, a beautiful male showed up today!

Before that, 3 male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks came by along with one, lucky and lovely lady.  And a Pine Siskin, mixed in amongst the American Goldfinches and Purple Finches today too.

What a bright, beautiful - orange - spring day, in spite of the cold rain!

A little grape jelly inside that orange was the perfect enticement!
