Last weekend, I participated in the Great Backyard Bird Count again. This year's count was a little less exciting in that the number and variety of birds brought to our yard was much less than last year's. More than likely, numbers are down everywhere due to the warm and mild winter we had. I'm not terribly fond of our WNY winters, but bird-wise, I sure missed seeing many species this winter!
I diligently counted and submitted my tallies for the 4 days of the count, during which, I captured a few photos...
Mourning Dove Black-capped Chickadee Downy Woodpecker Male Downy Woodpecker Female Red-bellied Woodpecker White-breasted Nuthatch Male Northern Cardinal Female Northern Cardinal Black-capped Chickadee I counted 16 Mourning Doves up in the trees!
