A Brave Northern Flicker Published: August 28, 2011 Tags: My Feeders, Northern Flicker I finally got a chance to capture a few photos of a male Northern Flicker (yellow shafted) a few days ago. Usually, it's only the female that comes around. I've yet to entice them to our bark butter - which was the entire reason I bought it - but I've begun to see a male coming to the back feeders lately. I finally got a chance to capture a few photos of a male Northern Flicker (yellow shafted) a few days ago. Usually, it's only the female that comes around.
