An early morning walk through Reinstein Woods Saturday morning brought 8 species of warblers (American Redstart, Black and White, Black-throated Blue, Magnolia, Nashville, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow, and Yellow-rumped), several Baltimore Orioles, 3 different vireos (Red-eyed, Warbling, and Philadelphia), and another Lincoln Sparrow. It was a quiet and beautiful morning and I forgot how much I enjoy this park.
I got to watch a female Baltimore Oriole gathering nesting material while a handsome male was singing his heart out nearby. And I never got any photographs of this, but as I was sitting down having a mid-morning snack, I saw a Marsh Wren and Common Yellowthroat foraging for food near one of the marshes together. I had a front row seat and got great close-up views of the Marsh Wren - what beautiful little wren.
