It was a "triple-hitter" today: I made it to three great spots searching for spring migrants.
Early in the morning, I visited Knox Farms. I had already checked for Boblinks and Eastern
Meadowlarks there 2 days earlier - but no luck. This morning, to my
delight, I found that they were back! I enjoy these field birds very much and was
happy to spend some time with them.
After Knox Farms, I took a hike through Tifft Nature Preserve and found my FOY Gray Catbird. A handsome White-crowned Sparrow was there too, one of the most regal of the passerines, in my opinion.
Ending at Forest Lawn, I was happy to see a rare sighting of a Louisiana Waterthrush down by the creek. I also added a few new FOY's which included a Wood Thrush and Blackburnian Warbler.
