The other day, my friends, Carl and Stephanie, invited me over to see the Black-billed Cuckoo that's been coming to their yard. What an amazing yard bird for them! It took me two tries to see it, but when I finally did, I got some great looks. The view didn't last too long, but it was long enough to get a couple of decent photos of the handsome bird. He actually sang a little too, which always brings the experience into a nice, rich fulness.
After that, I went to Tifft again and ran into Dean DiTomasso. We birded back to the marsh and were rewarded with at least two singing Northern Waterthrushes and a calling Sora. A Swainson's Thrush, a Black-throated Blue Warbler, and a Philadelphia Vireo all gave us some nice photo opportunities too.
