Windy Niagara

High winds in Western New York made for some good birding the other day. Celeste, Willie, Betsy, and I were anticipating some rarities and made plans to meet along the Niagara River in the hopes of catching up with some "good" birds. We were not disappointed.
Not everyone in our group saw all of these birds, but while we were out, different folks reported: Red Phalarope, Black-legged Kittiwake, Little Gull, Sabine's Gull, Eared Grebe, and Purple Sandpiper. What a nice mix of rare birds!
Unfortunately, with weather conditions like we were experiencing, photos were especially tough. I did manage - and am posting - a couple of shots of a Peregrine Falcon and a Parasitic Jaeger who gave wonderful views.
