As I prepare for my soon departure to go birding in Costa Rica with ten other BOS members, I’ve been out and about making the most of our local birds, knowing it will be quite awhile before I’ll be able to enjoy them again.  The trip goes for ten days (my first international trip, not including Canada) and I’m having foot surgery a day and a half after we return.  I expect to be out of commission for a good two months after that - a hardship for this active birder!

A few birds I’ve seen since January 1st...
