  Fall Migration Begins

Some sightings over the last few days show fall migration is underway.  I visited a couple of state parks and my own backyard...

This Blue-winged Warbler showed up in my yard, looking very out of place at the feeders. Obviously it too is on the move!

Purple Finch - probably a bird of post breeding dispersal, perhaps heading up north...

I heard towhees calling all season in my yard - what a joy to see this young Eastern Towhee, evidence that the pair was successful!
