As long as I don't have to drive in it, I welcome snowy days. They bring birds to my feeders and today, they came in force. The bistro was hoppin'! Woodpeckers were jockeying for position on the suet and bark butter, the thistle sock and tube held Common Redpolls, American Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, Dark-eyed Juncos, and even an American Tree Sparrow. And of course, the black oil sunflower seeds needed refilling a couple of times during the day for at least a dozen Northern Cardinals, a few House Finches, many, many Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, and nuthatches.

Mourning Doves came early and pushed their bulky way into everyone's hungry faces - and some House Sparrows got a little greedy too - but all in all, it was a lot of fun watching the constant flurry of activity as the snow fell heavily around the bistro. I took a couple of breaks during the day and captured a few photos of our guests...

Wow! I love how many different birds enjoy your feeders. Your pictures are great and it was fun to imagine the flurry of activity at your house on a snowy day.
