  A Cool Junco

I noted an odd looking junco a few days ago.  I thought it might be a White-winged Junco, a subspecies where there are dots of white creating the look of wingbars on these dark birds.  I posted to a junco Facebook group and some of the experts replied that this is a pigment anomaly that rarely occurs in the Dark-eyed Junco populations.  If it were of the White-winged ssp, it would have a larger bill and the bird, itself, would be much larger.  The subspecies also would exhibit dark lores on a lighter gray face.  Well - learn something new everyday!  I still think it's a neat looking bird!
